Fun is the driving force behind everything that we do. Obviously changing people’s live is serious business, but CrossFit Banshee tries to create a gym where people want to spend their time.

MEET OUR COACHES

Steven Williams

I found CrossFit in 2005 as part of a martial arts class that I was taking. I was a little intimidated by the workouts posted on the CrossFit main page and started out picking and choosing the workouts that I wanted to do on my own in our company gym. I quickly realized that the workouts were more effective then anything else that I was doing. I started bringing friends to the gym to show them CrossFit and finally attended a Level 1 certification in 2009.

Since that time I’ve coached at 2 other gyms in the Aurora area before opening CrossFit Banshee. Helping others learn to achieve their fitness goals has become a passion of mine, and I’ve spent 1000s of hours at the gym helping people reach a new level of fitness through CrossFit.

Anna Smith

From as young as I can remember, I was involved in sports and had my fair share of testing different athletics (Soccer, Gymnastics, Track, Volleyball, Tennis, Skiing, Snowboarding, Kickboxing) to find the ones that clicked for me. During elementary, middle, and high school I played volleyball and skied as much as I possibly could; I loved every minute of it. Then in high school, I found tennis and was hooked! Skiing and tennis continued on into my early twenties. I became a ski instructor at Ski Santa Fe and taught beginners as well as young children.

Then my mid-twenties hit and I had a lull in playing sports, at that time I loved to hike but I also loved the great New Mexican food. I gained a lot of weight and became de-conditioned in my twenties. As I neared my thirties and realized I didn’t feel good and I didn’t like how I looked. I tried to get back into working out. There were a few stutter starts with a general gym membership at the large gym by my house. In early 2010 I realized I couldn’t do it on my own and found a CrossFit gym. I had never heard of it before but was very intrigued by the idea of it. Almost immediately I loved the community and support and the fact that the workout was different every day. With the success I found through CrossFit and better nutrition, I was encouraged to get my CrossFit Level 1 certification in early 2011. I received my Level 1 in August 2011 and have been coaching since then (taking some time off to have a baby in between!).

I also found that I had a lot of questions coming my way about nutrition. In late 2013, Steve encouraged me to sign up for Precision Nutrition’s Coaching Program; I completed that in early 2014. I am now on my way to becoming a Super Coach with Precision Nutrition’s Level 2 Master Coach Certification (to be completed Sep 2016).
